Becken Balance Physiotherapie
Pelvic Floor Specialist
Pelvic floor and abdominal checks, physical therapy treatment for incontinence, prolaps, pelvic and abdominal pain, constipation, sexual dysfunction and many other difficulties.
Pelvic health encompasses the well-being of the entire pelvis, not only the pelvic floor, but also the organs (bladder, reproductive organs and rectum) ligaments, bones, fascia, nerves and surrounding muscles for all genders.
In my practice, in addition to pelvic floor and abdominal checks, I offer physical therapy treatment for incontinence (the involuntary leakage of urine, wind and stool), lowering of the pelvic organs, pelvic and abdominal pain, constipation, sexual dysfunction and many other difficulties.
My name is Alexandra Schäfer and I am a physiotherapist specializing in pelvic health.
I moved to Australia with my husband in early 2007. There I worked in private practices and hospitals and, in addition to many continuing education courses in gynecology, urology and proctology, I completed a degree at the University of Melbourne (Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy).
Since the beginning of 2020 I live with my family back in Southern Germany and hope to help many women, men and children. My work is very close to my heart and I know how much people suffer from pelvic problems, such as incontinence, persistent pain, organ descent and bowel problems. In my experience, many can be helped with targeted treatment.
Through my articles, I aim to provide scientifically sound information to those affected and interested, and to help de-taboo many of these issues. In my pelvic health practice, I offer individualized, targeted treatments for all genders. Since June 2021, after passing the examination, I also have the permission to work as a non-medical practitioner, limited to the field of physiotherapy.
